I've never purposely tried to get sunflare in a photo, but I stumbled on this shot I took a couple months ago. It's nothing crazy, but I think that bit of flare adds a cool touch...the reflections of the people at the car show are pretty cool as well.
This is a nice shot. If you look closely at your flare you can see it has 6 or 7 sides. Your lens iris probably has 6 plates. The more plates your lens have(more expensive lenses tend to have more) the smoother your lens flare and bokeh will be.
ReplyDeleteThanks RJ, for the compliments and of course your bit of knowledge on the subject. I've read a few articles on capturing Lens Flares, but have never actually gone out and tried to capture them on purpose. Definitely on my to-do list though, I think they look really great on certain types of photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm with yea on catching lens flare. I do it occasionally on accident but I don't have any science for it.
